I can't imagine what would happen if Vivian Maier made her photography work to public in 50's, 60's and 70's. She might be rejected as a photographer by many publishing companies here and she might had to quit her daily photography activities finally. Fortunately, Vivian Maier didn't do that. Now her work is better than others.
Just like Robert Frank showed his "The Americans" photographs to many US publishing companies and no one wanted his work and criticized him. Finally he had to give up his photography. What a sad story! No matter what, today Robert Frank's "The Americans" became the most important photography book in U.S. history. All those photo editors here had a blind eye then and they didn't know what's the real art. Wish they all were artists. Please leave artists alone. Finally his "The Americans" book published by a French company at Paris.
