Every time I finish photographing, I have the same feeling: today was my best picture day ever.
There is always something exciting about a day with a camera. I feel creative, alive, and completely connected to what I see. For a few hours, everything seems possible. Every frame feels like it might be the one.
Then I come home and face the huge number of images I have made.
And suddenly, I have a problem.
I have limited time, and I can’t seem to choose. Which one is the best? Which image should stay? Which one should go? I look at them again and again, and somehow I still want to keep them all.
Maybe that is because I am not very good at editing.
I am a good photographer, but a bad editor.
I know how to chase the light, find a moment, notice a face, and feel something worth photographing. But when it comes to letting go, I struggle.
Maybe this is part of being a photographer. The excitement is in making the pictures; the discipline is in choosing them.
For now, I’m still learning the second part.
